Novo Nordisk
For this demanding new build in New Jersey, three stairwells were clad with more than 800 m² of AKUSTIpur wall panels. AKUSTIpur carrier boards made from MDF in fire class B1 with formaldehyde-free bonding and a veneered surface in American white oak were used. With demanding shapes such as these stairwells it is impossible to plan the panels to the millimetre in advance. This is exactly where AKUSTIpur can show its strength as a multi-purpose panel that can be cut to size on site. The panels, micro-perforated throughout, were cut to fit on site and finished with pre-lacquered edges. Because the panels are perforated across the full surface, cutting and screw fixing need take no account of unperforated margins. This removed the cost of factory production of special panels, of repeated setup changes and of additional journeys. The flexible workflow allowed the site to be completed efficiently and economically.
