Terms and conditions

As of 22 July 2026

The legally binding text remains in German. An English translation is in preparation.

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of the Acoustic Index platform, operated by AcousticIndex GbR, Strelitzer Straße 19, 10115 Berlin.

By registering for or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

2. Platform Services

Acoustic Index provides a database for acoustic materials and products. Manufacturers can list products with measurement data, while planners and architects can search, compare and review this data.

The platform is currently free to use. We may introduce paid additional features in the future and will communicate material changes in advance.

3. Accounts and Manufacturer Content

Some features require registration. You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.

Manufacturers are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of product data and measurement values they publish on the platform.

For as long as the content is published, manufacturers grant the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide right to store, reproduce, technically process without altering its substance, make publicly available and provide that content through the platform, approved Read API integrations and documented export functions. This includes the right to grant approved API users and technical service providers the limited rights required for display, research, comparison, technical planning and integration into their own products or internal tools.

This permission does not allow the content to be sold as a standalone database or used to build or train a dataset or service competing with Acoustic Index. Manufacturers confirm that they hold the required rights and authority. When content is unpublished or deleted, new use ends; technically necessary caches must be cleared promptly, while locked backups and statutory records may remain until deleted in the ordinary course.

4. Availability and Liability

We aim to keep the platform available, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Maintenance, technical incidents or force majeure may temporarily limit access.

Product data and measurements may originate from manufacturers or public sources. We do not warrant that this data is accurate, complete or current. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

5. Measurement Data Terms

Additional terms for acoustic measurement data, the reverberation calculator and related technical information are available in the Terms of use.

Programmatic access to the data via the Read API (including bulk and partner access) is additionally governed by the separate API Terms.

6. Privacy, Termination and Changes

Information about personal data processing is available in our Privacy policy.

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or delete accounts in case of abuse or violations. German law applies where legally permitted.
